Happy Mother's Day

In honor of all the mother's out there, here are some mother-daughter photos I recently took. This incredible mom has a smile I love to see and a special place in my heart.

May all you mom's out there have a great weekend and thanks for all you do.

Happy Mother's Day!

Rain Rain Go Away!!!

I am getting ready to shoot another wedding this weekend, which is my third of the year already. I didn't realize getting ready meant doing the rain dance, but I guess with this streak of rain we've had, it does! At this point I am doing the rain dance forwards, backwards and upside down in an attempt to have some sunshine on Saturday. To quote one of my clients, "I didn't realize we live in Seattle!".

The last wedding I shot it was still pretty cold out. But this bride and groom managed to make it look warm and cozy. Hoping that this weather starts to cooperate soon. Is it really too much to ask for the rain to suddenly go away and it to be a nice, warm day????

Easter Lamb and Bunny Photos

As a photographer in Yorkville, Illinois, I'm always striving to give my clients something new and different. This year's crazy idea-a lamb for Easter portraits. Thanks so much to the families that let us get to know their bunnies and lambs this year! I can't say how much all the kids enjoy this. In the end this event was a huge success and we got some great photos.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... one of the great things about photographing families is seeing them grow and change. I've posted some bunny photos of 2 families from last year and now this year. Look how these kids have changed.

Exciting News!

I have awesome and exciting news that I want to share with you. My husband and I are excited to announce we are expecting a baby. Soon we will be a family of 5! I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and I will be having the baby by planned c-section on July 5. I have wanted to share this news with you earlier, but at the same time wanted to be sure that things were going as planned. Just this week I had my ultrasound and we were happy to find out the baby was healthy and growing.

Some of you may have noticed in the past few months that I was often not feeling so good. A few of you at the Santa shoot may have even thought there was a green elf there shooting your photos, but it was just me not feeling well. I hope this announcement explains any odd events that you may have encountered with me over the past few months. For the few of you who accidentally found out the news (or even guessed it) thank you for keeping my secret and allowing me to announce this in my own time.

As you all know a baby can be life changing, however I want to assure you that my photography business is still going to be a priority. I love my work and plan to continue working after the arrival of the baby. As long as there are no unforeseen circumstances, I will be taking a leave with the arrival of the baby from June 20-August 10. During that time , if you have an immediate need, I hope that you will still contact me. The benefit of having my office out of my home is that I will still be available to clients. If you are expecting a baby during the time I am off, please still contact me to schedule your newborn shoot. I would not want a client to miss out on portraits that could not be done at a different time. If you call or email during the leave and I am not available to answer the phone immediately, please leave me a message and I will return the call as soon as I can. After August 10 I will be returning to normal business hours and preparing for the busy fall season!

We cannot wait to meet our newest addition, and of course I cannot wait to get my camera out!!!
